Catherine A. Ryan
Bio
Catherine Ryan practices in all areas of civil litigation, specializing in tort and product liability, business litigation and professional negligence claims. She attended the University of Georgia Law School where she served on the Mock Trial Board from 2000-2002. Catherine began working at Esdaile, Barrett & Esdaile as a summer intern in the year 2000 and joined the firm full-time upon graduation. Catherine practices in state and Federal court, has worked on multi-district litigation and has represented clients in a wide-variety of claims including contract and intellectual property disputes.
Professional Accomplishments
Catherine and her co-counsel obtained a $973,000 judgment after a jury’s verdict against the MBTA as a result of a bus accident that caused a crush injury to her client’s ankle, impairing his ability to earn a living as an independent contractor. She has successfully arbitrated multiple auto accident cases, once obtaining an arbitrator’s award that was eighteen times more than the highest pre-arbitration settlement offer. Catherine has obtained and successfully defended against summary judgment (pre-trial dismissal) of a variety of claims including legal malpractice, breach of contract, negligent design and negligent entrustment in both state and Federal court.
